Infront Pro Plus or: How I Learned to Stop Caring about super expensive software and Love the GoScreen

by finansakrobat

I what it looks like. But it's really not like that. This is not a paid advertisement. I just decided to make this video. That is how much I like the new software.

I've been using Infront's products for a few years and it's always been a cheap and cheerful experience.

Back in the day I only cared about Norwegian stocks (*shudder*) and news (*shudder*), so my setup reflected that.

Around the start of the credit crunch I realised that I had no overview of the global markets, but I kept looking at this very static and kind of terrible screen that I had made myself with a complete Norwegian focus.

What was hinding beneeth the software in the old Infront terminal was actually a very deep dataset and a whole host of assets that needed to be watched. But it wasn't being displayed in any way and therefore I didn't know of it.

I kept that stupid screen setup that I made back in 2009 and slowly added some stuff when I discovered them by accident in the terminal. It ended up being kind of a jumble and a fairly unattractive one at that. It looks like this by the way (continue after pic):

About six months ago I started talking to people I knew at Infront and we eventually started working together on some minor projects. In relation to this, I got access to the early verison of Infront Pro Plus, called Enterprise at the time.

So I've been using the new software daily for a few months, and I'm a big fan.

It is a completely new take on a terminal, but on the same familiar system. This made it possible for me to squeeze in the entire global market into a single page and improve my workflow signifficantly. The whole idea of my new setup is to not miss price action in over 100 assets.

I also have a great deal of screens I open from time to time, just to keep tabs. That's my favs (the star things on the top).

So what was once a kind of cheap looking, but very good software, is now a real contender for the big guys. If you are running a Reuters or Bloomberg terminal right now, chances are that you could switch to Infront Pro Plus and not miss anything. At 1/4th the price or something thereabouts.

So go ahead and watch the long winded video I made of the terminal at the top there and you get some overview as to why you should switch and what you can expect.

I'll be making some more videos in the days to come, showing off more of the features that I like in it.

If you want to copy my setup, you can download this file and just run it in the software.
