The real reason CNBC loves to fan the flames of drama in the markets

On CNBC, you know all those countdowns, the dramatic intros, the ever repeating footage of riots and the dramatic music.

We all knew that it was because drama brings in the viewership, but I present to you the strong correlation between volatility in the markets and CNBC viewship. 

The volatility chart is from Goldman and the CNBC chart is from zerohedge.  

I merely overlayed em. Pretty conclusive: (cick on image for larger version). 

The longest chart is the volatility, while the one begining in 1992 is CNBC at its inception.
